Indoor Air Quality Consultant
Throughout California, ACC is a leader in Indoor Air Quality testing and consulting. Over the past 20 years, ACC has completed hundreds of indoor air quality evaluations in all types of buildings and occupational settings.
Baseline Indoor Air Quality Studies
The first step in an IAQ evaluation is the performance of a Baseline Study. During the study, tenants complaining of symptoms or odors are interviewed and asked to complete a questionnaire that helps ACC’s Indoor Air Quality consultants & specialists determine the possible cause(s) of the problem and the location within the building of concern. With this information our IAQ professionals are able to focus their inspections and air quality testing.
HVAC Evaluations
Many times poor indoor air quality is a result of inadequate ventilation. To determine if the HVAC system is operating properly, ACC’s IAQ professionals review maintenance records, inspect the equipment, and obtain ventilation readings at air supply registers to determine if the system meets recommended ASHRAE ventilation requirements.
Indoor Air Quality Testing
Once potential sources of contaminants are identified, ACC’s IAQ professionals utilize the latest sampling and analytical equipment to determine the levels of contaminants that can cause of IAQ problems. Common contaminants ACC test for include; carbon monoxide, volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), formaldehyde, fungal spores, and particulates.
Corrective Action Plans
Once the baseline study, HVAC evaluation, and air quality testing is completed, ACC’s IAQ professionals develop a Corrective Action Plan for the building. The plan provides recommendations to correct current IAQ problems and prevent future problems. If the plan requires the services of an outside contractor, ACC will work with the client to obtain bids for the work and manage the contractor during the work.
Prevention Programs
Due to the potential liabilities caused by poor indoor air quality, it is important for building managers and engineers to properly service HVAC systems, and on a routine basis measure the humidity, carbon dioxide and VOC levels in their buildings. ACC’s Indoor Air Quality consultants & professionals can assist in this effort by providing training to building managers and engineers, perform periodic inspections and Indoor Air Quality testing that enables our clients to identify and solve problems before symptoms and health problems arise.
