BasicPlus CPR, AED, and First Aid for Adults (8-Hour Course)

MEDIC FIRST AID BasicPlus is a CPR, AED, and First Aid training program for adults, designed specifically for the occupational first aid provider. This extremely flexible program will help employers meet OSHA and other federal and state regulatory requirements for training employees how to respond and care for medical emergencies at work.

CarePlus CPR and AED (4-Hour Course)

CarePlus™ CPR for Adults, Children, and Infants Version 6.0 is a community-focused, comprehensive training program in emergency resuscitation for the lay rescuer. It is designed to teach students how to perform resuscitation for patients of all ages who are victims of Sudden Cardiac Arrest, as well as those who are unresponsive or choking.

CarePlus™ CPR and AED for Adults, Children, and Infants includes topics described above and training on the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This class can be used to help meet requirement guidelines for first aid training in the workplace. This course is designed to be flexible to your needs.

PediatricPlus CPR, AED and First Aid for Children (8-Hour Course)

MEDIC FIRST AID PediatricPlus CPR, AED, and First Aid Version 6.0 for Children, Infants, and Adults provides an ideal training solution for schools, childcare providers, youth sports coaches, and others required to learn how to respond to medical emergencies involving children.

Updated to reflect the newest guidelines for CPR, the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and first aid, this versatile program offers treatment guidelines for all ages. Course materials include optional childcare topics to help meet child care training requirements. EMSA certification is available with this course.

Who should attend: Child Day Care Providers, Foster Parents, School Personnel, Bus Drivers, & Youth Sports Coaches

Health Care Provider – American Heart Association Course (3-4 hr Re-Certification Course)

Skills of CPR for victims of all ages are taught including the usage of an automated external defibrillator and relief of choking. Materials include supplemental information for interested students on various other topics. Course is instructor led with discussion and simulation including student participation, practice and completion of various skills & learning stations.

Who Should Attend: Healthcare Providers, EMS Personnel, Physician assistants, Dentists, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists and others who must maintain AHA Health Care Provider certification. Students must show proof of prior certification with expiration no greater than 90 days of re-certification class.

In addition to the classes described above ACC offers the following classes upon request at your site or at a pre-arranged location:

Emergency Care (4-Hour Course)

The MEDIC FIRST AID Emergency Care First Aid Version 6.0 training program is designed to train individuals that require training in basic first aid skills. This program will provide first aid training to students, giving them the skills necessary to manage illnesses and injuries until the arrival of EMS. Emergency Care is designed to complement cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training in order to meet OSHA requirements for first aid training in the workplace.

This class can be provided as a stand-alone class or as a supplement to the Health Care Provider (AHA) course.

Who Should Attend: Workplace Responders

Bloodborne Pathogens (1-2-Hour Course)

This class is designed to provide students with the essential knowledge necessary to help reduce or eliminate the occupational risk of bloodborne pathogens. This training program provides the information every employee who has occupational exposure needs to know to avoid accidental exposure to potentially infectious materials and to manage an accidental exposure if one occurs. This course is intended help meet OSHA training requirements for bloodborne pathogens.

Oxygen First Aid for Emergencies (1-2-Hour Course)

This class is designed to give students the knowledge and skills necessary to provide emergency oxygen to a suddenly ill or injured person until more advanced medical help can be obtained. Supplying oxygen helps meet the patient’s critical need for oxygen and can help reduce the possibility of more serious conditions.

This class can be taken as a stand-alone course or as a supplement to the Emergency Care Version 6.0 class described above.

Smoking Cessation (8-1hour classes)

It is a well-established fact that smoking contributes directly to multiple health issues as a root cause of diseases including lung cancer, emphysema and heart disease. Health issues caused directly or indirectly by smoking contribute to lost productivity in the work place and the toll smoking takes annually on the American health care system significantly affects the cost employers must pay toward health care coverage.

This series of classes is offered to individuals or employers who recognize the worth of improving the health of their staff and who wish to provide a means to their employees to overcome this difficult habit.

About the Instructor

Lead Instructor – Dave May has 20 years of experience providing CPR, AED and Emergency Medical Training and is certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) and Medic First Aid as an Instructor Trainer as well as in the following disciplines:

American Heart Association: HCP, Adult, Child, Infant, Heart Saver Adult, Infant and Child, Friends and Family (all ages) and Automated External Defibrillator;

Medic First Aid: Basic Plus (CPR/AED/First Aid), Basic (CPR/First Aid), Pediatric CPR and First Aid, Automated External Defibrillator, Bloodborne Pathogens, Oxygen, Care Plus (CPR), Care Plus with AED (CPR/AED);
